(April 6, 2006)--South Dakota senior All-American Turner Trofholz (Schuyler, Neb.) was presented with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Co-National Player of the Year Award at the 2006 Cingular Wireless/NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show at the Murat Theater in Indianapolis, Ind., on Sunday, April 2. The NABC distributed its season-ending awards in conjuction with the NCAA Division I Final Four tournament held at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, Ind.
Others receiving honors at the banquet included Virginia Union's Darius Hargrove, who shared the Division II National Player of the Year Award with Trofholz; Villanova's Jay Wright earned the Division I National Coach of the Year; Gonzaga's Adam Morrison and Duke's J.J. Reddick shared the Division I National Player of the Year honor, while Duke's Sheldon Williams picked up the Division I Defensive Player of the Year award.
