Tommy Vining placed runner-up Tuesday while the men's golf team placed fourth at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in Pullman, Washington.

Vining shot a 1-under-par 70 in the final round to finish -11 for the tournament with 202 strokes. His second place finish is on the heels of setting a program record for a low round by an individual. In the second round, he shot a 64, which marked a 7-under par. His 202 is the second-lowest 54-hole tournament for any individual in program history.

Matt Tolan and freshman
Tate Arends each placed in a tie for 23
rd place at 1-over-par for the tournament. Arends shot his second-consecutive 2-under-par 69 to boost him to 23
rd after shooting an opening-round 76 in his first collegiate competition.

Jacob Michel earned a 32
nd place finish with his 216 over the three rounds including back-to-back 71's. Senior
Matt Swanson tallied a 36
th place finish with a 217 over three rounds, with a 2-under-par final round.

Jack Holmgren competed as an individual for the Coyotes placing tied for 44
th with a 220 over the three rounds.

Washington State staged a comeback in the final round to win its own tournament by one stroke over Boise State. Washington State tallied an 819 with Boise State finishing with an 820. The Coyotes closed out the tournament with an 840 over the three rounds, led by a program-record low score of 271 in the second round.

Donny Hopoi claimed individual medalist honors with his 13-under-par 200.

The Coyotes regroup quickly with the Colorado state Masters Invitational set for Monday and Tuesday in Fort Collins, Colorado.
