VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota middle blocker
Kelly Law has been named the Summit League Offensive Player of the Week the conference announced Monday. It is the first of such honor for Law, a senior from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In her second weekend back from injury, Law averaged a .400 hitting percentage and tallied 11 total blocks. In the match against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Law recorded nine kills on 12 attempts with zero errors for a season-high .750 hitting percentage. Against the Air Force Academy, Law tallied 10 kills, another season-high. Her performance at the classic earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team.
The middle blocker is currently leading the Summit League in hitting percentage at .420.
Law helped the Coyotes to a 2-1 record this past weekend at the Hampton Inn & Suites Northern Colorado Classic. South Dakota will play its home opener against Western Illinois at 7 p.m. Friday inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
