    South Dakota men picked first, women second in preseason poll

    ELMHURST, Ill.--The South Dakota men's track and field team has been picked to win its second straight Summit League outdoor track and field championship, as announced recently by the league office. The Coyote women were voted second after taking third a year ago.

    2015 Track & Field Preview: Jumps

    VERMILLION, S.D.--Entering its fourth year in the Summit League, the Coyote track and field teams are preparing for another successful season at the helm of head coaches Lucky Huber and Dave Gottsleben. Last season, the track teams captured a pair of Summit League titles, earned three All-America honors and finished 10th at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships.

    VERMILLION, S.D.--The University of South Dakota's track and field program boasts three current and two former athletes who are ranked among the top 25 in the United States according to recent polls published by Track and Field News Magazine.

    Grove named Athlete of the Year by S.D. Sportswriters

    VERMILLION, S.D.--South Dakota junior pole vaulter Emily Grove has been named College Women's Athlete of the Year by South Dakota Sportswriters Association, as announced in December. Grove is the second Coyote to earn the honor in as many years after Bethany Firsick earned the award in 2013.

    Red victorious in intersquad meet

    VERMILLION, S.D.--The red team defeated white 127-101 Wednesday night in South Dakota Track and Field's Red vs. White Intersquad meet at the DakotaDome. The meet served as a preseason event for the team and did not count in any qualification standards or national rankings.
