    VERMILLION, S.D.--South Dakota's Bethany Buell competes in the pole vault at the Track and Field Indoor National Championships, men's and women's basketball play at the Summit League Tournament and softball continues competition at the Rebel Spring Games this week in Coyote athletics.

    Summit League All-Newcomer honoree...earned honorable mention All-Summit League honors...second-team All-Summit League by College Sports of two Coyotes who started all 30 games...led the team, ranked fifth in the Summit and 172nd nationally in scoring with 15.4 points per game...led the Summit and ranked 11th nationally in free-throw percentage (88.7 percent, 141-159)...led the Coyotes with 89 assists and 37 steals, ranking eighth in the Summit in both categories...averaged 16.2 points in Summit League play and 21.3 points inside the DakotaDome...made 15 of 16 free throws in back-to-back games against Ball State (12/15) and Morehead State (12/19)...finished 7 of 13 from the field and scored a season high 32 points vs. Morehead State, most points scored by a Coyote all season...scored more than 20 points nine times...made 9 of 14 shots and scored 26 points in a win vs. IUPUI (12/1)...made 5 of 6 three pointers and scored 24 points vs. Culver-Stockton (11/23)...led the `Yotes in scoring 11 times...led the team in rebounding three times...had season-high seven rebounds twice...had seven assists at Montana State (2/24)...had five steals at Kansas State (12/31) and at Wyoming (11/15).

    A one-year starter and letterman at Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Fla...helped the Eagles to a 25-6 overall record, including a 10-4 mark in the Panhandle Conference, and a No. 17 final ranking in the NJCAA Top 25 poll in 2009-10...the team advanced to the NJCAA Region VIII Championship...averaged 12.1 points on 40.6 percent shooting (56-of-138), including 36.4 percent (52-of-143) from 3-point range, with 3.6 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 26.1 minutes per game...connected on 75.4 percent (107-of-142) from the free throw line...averaged a 2.25 assist-to-turnover ratio...saw action in all 31 games, including 24 starts, as a true freshman...led the team in assists and 3-point field goals, was second in free throws (107), free throws attempted (142) and free throw percentage (75.4) and third in minutes played and steals (0.8 spg.)... Scored in double figures in 17 games, including six 20-point contests... Led the team in scoring on seven occasions...poured in a career-high 27 points against Southern Georgia Tech (12/1) on 11-of-16 field goals, including a 4-of-7 effort from the 3-point line...also scored 21 points against top-ranked Northwest Florida State College (1/30)...played alongside three other Division I signees at Tallahassee, including Bernard James (Florida State), Hugh Robertson (South Florida) and Marvell Waither (Arkansas)...     A four-year starter and letterman at Pickering High School in Pickering, Ontario... Led his team to a 70-2 record, a Canadian Provincial title and a national title during his career...
