    Powell, Robb named to MVFC All-Academic Team

    University of South Dakota senior wide receiver Will Powell and junior placekicker Kevin Robb have been named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Academic Team as announced by the league office. Both were second-team selections.

    One of 10 Coyotes who started all 11 games, he at linebacker...honorable mention MVFC all-academic team...USD Coaches' Award winner...USD Tim Mojzik Bulldog Award winner...USD Coyote Character Award winner...USD Outstanding Male Scholar Athlete of the Year...led USD, ranked 10th in the MVFC and in the top 100 nationally with 85 tackles (31 solo, 54 assists)...also led the team and ranked 18th in the MVFC in tackles for loss with 7.5...had a sack for eight yards vs. Colgate (9/8)...blocked an extra point vs. NDSU (10/20)...caught a 24-yard pass on a successful fake punt conversion vs. Illinois State (9/29)...led the team in tackles three times and had a career-high 15 stops vs. Illinois State...had 11 tackles vs. Western Illinois (10/6)...had six tackles and a pass breakup at Indiana State (10/27)...MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award...MVFC Honor Roll.
