He really came on towards the end of the season as he had three, 100-yard or better receiving performances in his last six games, including a career-high 144 yards against Missouri S&T (Nov. 12). Powell also had a one-handed catch which garnered national attention on ESPN's Top 10 Plays of the Day in a thrilling 24-19 win over Southern Utah on Dakota Days (Oct. 8)...Earned team Offensive Player of the Week honors twice last season...Ranks sixth all-time in reception yards with 1,896 and sixth in pass receptions with 103 heading into his senior season...Tied for the school record with 19 touchdown receptions (Dan Skelly, 2005-2009). 2010: Earned second-team All-GWC honors...started 10 games at wide receiver...led the Coyotes in receptions (47), receiving yards (933) and receiving touchdowns (10)...averaged 19.9 yards per catch and 84.8 yards per game...top performance was eight catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns at Minnesota...also posted 168 yards and two touchdowns against Cal Poly...notched more than 100 receiving yards four times...his 933 receiving yards were third on USD's single-season charts, his 47 catches were fifth and his 10 touchdowns were second...finished fifth in the GWC in receptions per game (4.3), second in receiving yards per game (84.8) and seventh in scoring (5.5 ppg)...ranked 17th in the FCS in receiving yards per game...named USD's Most Valuable Player...named USD's Offensive Player of the Week three times during the season...earned Academic All-Great West honors for Fall 2010. 2009: Appeared in the final eight games as a wide receiver and defense back, including making starts against Montana State and Cal Poly on offense...also played on special teams...finished the season with 14 catches for 200 yards and four touchdowns...posted a season-high four catches for 92 yards and one touchdown against Cal Poly...earned 15 tackles, one pass breakup and a forced fumble...notched a season-high four tackles twice (Southeastern Louisiana and Northern Colorado)...an integral part of a USD offense that averaged 460 yards per game (4th in the nation) and 258 passing yards per game (16th in the nation).
