    Bouma named MVFC Newcomer of the Week

    VERMILLION, S.D.—University of South Dakota redshirt freshman running back Trevor Bouma has been named Missouri Valley Football Conference Newcomer of the Week following his season-high 145-yard rushing performance in the Coyotes’ 17-14 win against Indiana State Saturday in Vermillion.

    Bouma scored the first and the last touchdown of the game on carries of three and four yards, respectively. He also ran out the final 3:39 of the fourth quarter with six consecutive runs that gained 21 yards and netted two first downs.

    Bouma (LeMars, Iowa/Gehlen Catholic HS) leads the Coyotes with 382 yards rushing this season and is the team’s second-leading receiver with 21 catches for 125 yards.
