    Contreras 3 sends Coyotes into semis

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--South Dakota junior guard Raeshel Contreras hit a 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds left to send the Coyotes past Western Illinois, 96-94, and into Monday's Summit League Tournament semifinal against top-seeded South Dakota State.


    Five USD starters reach double figures, but Jacks prevail

    VERMILLION, S.D.--Megan Waytashek scored a game-high 18 points and Mariah Clarin and Gabby Boever added 14 points each to lead South Dakota State in a 99-88 win against South Dakota Sunday at the DakotaDome in the regular season finale for both teams.


    Cold start, finish dooms Coyotes in Omaha

    OMAHA, Neb.--South Dakota rebounded from a 17-point hole in the first half and took a 58-57 lead with 3:36 remaining before falling at Omaha 69-61 Thursday night at Sapp Fieldhouse. It was the Coyotes' first loss in four games.


    Second-half run puts Fort Wayne away

    VERMILLION, S.D.--South Dakota scored the first 16 points of the second half and didn't look back in an 84-71 win against Fort Wayne Thursday inside the DakotaDome. The Coyotes (13-11, 4-5 Summit) have won four of their last five. The Mastodons (12-12, 5-5) have lost three of four.


    Coyotes start second half with win against Denver

    VERMILLION, S.D.--Four South Dakota starters scored at least 14 points and Kelly Stewart added eight points off the bench as the Coyotes opened the second half of Summit League play with an 88-67 win against Denver Friday inside the DakotaDome.
