VERMILLION, S.D.--South Dakota placed 71 percent of its list-eligible student-athletes on the 2013-14 Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence released Thursday by the Summit League office. In addition, the Coyotes' men's and women's cross country teams and their men's track and field team received Team Academic Achievement Awards for obtaining the highest percentage among league members.
VERMILLION, S.D.--South Dakota boasts 139 student-athletes on The Summit League's Academic Honor Roll for the winter and spring seasons. Of those, 72 were also named to the Summit's Academic Distinguished Scholars List. Both numbers are second-highest in the league.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--South Dakota junior guard Raeshel Contreras hit a 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds left to send the Coyotes past Western Illinois, 96-94, and into Monday's Summit League Tournament semifinal against top-seeded South Dakota State.
