    Coyotes go cold in semifinal loss

    VERMILLION, S.D.--A 27-5 run midway through the second-half helped McNeese State turn a 45-33 deficit into a 58-50 lead as they defeated South Dakota 71-63 in the WBI semifinals at the DakotaDome. The Coyotes held a 36-28 halftime lead but made just 6 of 28 second-half shots in the loss.

    Started all 31 games at guard position...averaged 8.6 points per game, third on the team, and also was second on the team with 42 three-pointers...scored a season-high 22 points in win over Western Illinois (1/21/12)...had 12 games in double figures overall...also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game...tied a USD single-game free-throw record by going 10-of-10 at the free-throw line in win over IUPUI (1/23/12)...shot 80.8 percent from the line on the season.

    All-Great West Conference honorable mention selection...became a fixture in the starting lineup immediately after transferring from Iowa Western CC...started 30 of the 32 games she appeared in...had 10 double-figure scoring games...averaged 8.4 points per game...scored a season-high 18 points twice, against Jamestown (11/17/10) and at North Dakota (01/15/10)...also averaged 2.6 rebounds per game and 1.3 assists per game....had a season-high five assists against Idaho in first round of WBI (03/17/11), tying mark she set earlier against Utah Valley (01/22/11)...shot 35.6 percent from three-point range, hitting 48 treys on the season.

    Named second-team all-region as a freshman...enjoyed a solid freshman campaign at IWCC, where averaged 15 points, 4.5 rebounds, three assists and three steals...appeared in all 32 games and also hit 38 three-pointers during the season.

    Averaged 22 points, 9.5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals per game as a senior at Elk River HS...holds the Elk River High School record for points with 1,783 and was the team leader in free-throw percentage (83.5 percent) and rebounding from 2005-09...was a four-year starter and was selected all-conference and team MVP from 2005-09...Wilson also earned honorable mention all-star recognition in 2009, and Breakdown Recognition as one of the top 25 Minnesota girls basketball players...was also part of the 2008 AAU team that captured the national championship in 2008 at the Disney Wide World of Sports Center in Florida.
