Three Coyotes at U.S. Volleyball National Team tryouts
Feb. 19, 2014
VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota volleyball players Kendall Kritenbrink, Kelsey Biltoft and Tori Kroll are participating in the U.S. Women’s National Team Open Tryouts starting on Feb. 21 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The tryouts will last three days and will fill out the rosters for the U.S. National Volleyball Team and the U.S. Collegiate National Teams. The tryout has 248 participants from 106 colleges and will be overseen by the U.S. Women’s National Team staff.
Kritenbrink and Biltoft are eligible to be named to either the U.S. National team or the Collegiate National Teams. If they make the collegiate teams, they will either be part of a 12-member team to play a series of matches in China from June 13-27 or be part of a 36-member group playing at the USA Volleyball Girls’ National Championships in Minneapolis.
Those playing in Minneapolis will be split into teams and will play each other during that tournament to serve as inspiration for the junior athletes.
Kroll is eligible only for the U.S. National team due to not having any college eligibility left. The team rosters will be announced by the end of March.
The tryouts will be live streamed through the team’s website on www.teamusa.org.
