Sanford Coyote Sports Center Athletic Training Room
The primary facility, located in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center, opened in the fall of 2016. Providing taping, treatment, rehabilitation, nutrition and hydrotherapy services, this facility is designed to accommodate USD student-athletes throughout the year. The athletic training room consists of 10 treatment tables as well as a variety of therapeutic modality units. Some of these modalities include therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, paraffin bath and compression units. The hydrotherapy area consists of three extremity whirlpools, two 18-person plunge pools and a Hydroworx underwater treadmill. The Hydroworx underwater treadmill has the capability of depths up to six feet. It also contains five underwater cameras, two resistance jets and can reach speeds of nine mph. In addition to a treatment and hydrotherapy area, the Sports Center athletic training room has a physician's examination room.
DakotaDome Athletic Training Room
The second athletic training room is located on the field level of the DakotaDome. This facility provides taping, treatment, rehabilitation, hydrotherapy and x-ray services. Within the treatment area, the athletic training room contains different modality units which consists of therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation and compression units. The hydrotherapy area consists of three extremity whirlpools. In addition to taping, treatment and hydrotherapy areas, the DakotaDome athletic training room has three physician's examination rooms, one of which is equipped with an x-ray machine.
